Update on Schools from the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District
We continue to move forward on the facility upgrade projects funded by the bond measures.
The 2015 “quick start” projects are on schedule and will be completed by the end of summer. The 2015 “quick start” projects are:
GLENSHIRE ELEMENTARY: Parking lot upgrades and safety and security upgrades. Ward Young, a local firm, is the architect for this project. McCuen Construction Inc. has been selected as the contractor for the project.
TRUCKEE HIGH SCHOOL: Installation of an all-weather track. Field upgrades at East West field, new bathrooms constructed at field level and upgrades to ADA access. Roadway improvements to the entry and parking areas to improve safety. Ward Young is the architect for this project. The project is currently out to bid and contractor bids are due on June 11.
KINGS BEACH ELEMENTARY & TAHOE LAKE ELEMENTARY: Boiler replacements and upgrades to the mechanical system’s controls.
SIERRA HIGH SCHOOL: Parking lot upgrades, building modernizations, security system upgrades, painting, and furniture. Ward Young is the architect for this project.
NORTH TAHOE HIGH SCHOOL: A portion of the bus barn is being converted into warehouse storage space for the Food Services Department.
COLD STREAM ALTERNATIVE/RIDEOUT: Painting the exterior, repair walkways, classroom technology upgrades.
DISTRICT-WIDE: Upgrades to fire and security systems at select sites throughout the district.
